About the Job
3/4 time (approximately 25-30 hours/week; am shift) cook needed for full-day preschool and child care center.
Qualifications include:
- Minimum age - 18 years old.
- Experience cooking for groups of people preferred (restaurant, school, etc).
- Experience making home-cooked meals.
- Ability to work independently.
- Ability to work respectfully with children, teaching staff, and families.
Job Responsibilities:
- Menu planning for breakfast, lunch, and afternoon snacks.
- Meal preparation and portioning, following meal pattern.
- Housekeeping duties as relates to kitchen, pantry, and cafeteria.
- Food and supply ordering.
- Will be required to complete annual training in kitchen sanitation, food handling, and nutrition.
- OPTIONAL: for the applicant who wants to cook and work directly with children, this position could be full time, and include additional hours working in a classroom. Additional education/training would be needed for this position.
